“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
- Exodus 14:14 (NKJV)
The Israelites stood before the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army behind them. It was a crisis beyond human solution. In such moments, prophetic intervention becomes the gateway to divine results.
Moses declared boldly to a terrified people in Exodus 14:13 (NKJV): “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord… For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.”
Notice something profound in that account: when that word was spoken, nothing had visibly changed. The sea had not parted. The army had not retreated. Yet the prophetic declaration went forth before the manifestation. This teaches us that prophetic results often begin with a divine announcement before physical evidence.
Even Moses did not immediately know how the deliverance would unfold. Shortly after declaring victory, he cried to the Lord. Then God responded in Exodus 14:15 (NKJV): “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”
And when Moses stretched out his rod, the sea parted. Water defied its natural behavior. This is what divine intervention does; it interrupts natural patterns. It creates outcomes that logic cannot predict.
Prophetic results often begin with a divine announcement before physical evidence.
There are seasons when the Lord allows us to stand at “Red Sea” moments. Not to destroy us, but to demonstrate His power. The Israelites could not credit military strategy for their escape. They could only testify: “The Lord fought for us.”
You may be facing financial pressure, relational tension, professional stagnation, or spiritual dryness. It may feel like you are trapped between the sea and the enemy’s army. But the same God who intervened then still intervenes now.
And the prophetic word—a divinely-inspired announcement of a favourable end—is often the doorway to intervention. It shifts perspective from panic to promise. It replaces fear with expectancy. Divine intervention changes the storyline.
The Egyptians you see today do not have to define your tomorrow. When God fights for you, no force can prevail against you. Stand still. Move forward when He says move. And trust that the One who parted seas still rules over impossibilities.

Trust and Obey
By John H. Sammis
Prayer – Father, in every area where I feel trapped, intervene. Fight battles I cannot fight. Part every sea standing before me. Replace fear with faith and panic with peace. I choose to stand still and trust Your salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
