One of the easiest truths to forget as a Christian is the fact that you are a threat to the enemy.

You might be thinking, “Who, me?” Yes. Yes, you! As a child of God, redeemed by Christ, you are now His. And the very thought of you—and the power you carry in God—strikes fear in the heart of the enemy.

Yet often, we as believers live our lives without a consciousness of this truth. Let it be clear to you today that you are a terror to the enemy.

And when the enemy is afraid, you can be sure they will seek to strike. The enemy does not have to announce to you that they are trying to manipulate events against you. In fact, these attacks are often launched in secret. This means you can’t live your life carelessly.

We see this play out in today’s scripture.

The people of Israel—a representation of the Church—were living their lives routinely. Yet, in another nation, they were causing fear and terror in the hearts of their adversaries. So much so that their enemies began plotting and scheming to bring calamity upon Israel. They went as far as employing spiritually diabolical methods—the use of curses—to bring the Israelites down.

In our text, we read about how Balak (the king of Moab) and Balaam (a diviner and sorcerer) entered an unholy alliance against Israel. They joined forces to exact evil upon the people of God.

Let it be clear to you today that you are a terror to the enemy.

This is the extent to which these adversaries were willing to go.

But why? Why would an entire nation conspire like this?

It is because, just like you, the enemies of Israel recognized the power of God within them. And this caused fear and terror. So, they launched a spiritual attack.

But glory to God! The attack of this unholy alliance failed because God was with Israel—just as He is with you.

Make no mistake: you are terrifying to the enemy. You are not ordinary—you are a threat to darkness. And this means you may be attacked.

But rest assured, just as the attack by Moab against Israel failed, so will any attack against you fail as well, in Jesus’ name.

Remember, you carry spiritual power capable of overturning the plans of darkness. You can no longer afford to live as though this is not true.

It is time to step fully into that truth and exercise your authority. More importantly, do not shy away or run from challenges—stand up and face them, knowing that the One who is with you is greater than any curse or enemy.

You are already victorious. Step into your day assured of this truth in your identity in Christ.

“Victory Belongs to Jesus” by Todd Dulaney.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory I have in Christ. Open my eyes daily to see the power and authority You have given me. Remind me that I am not a victim but a terror to the enemy. Strengthen me to stand boldly against every attack, knowing You are with me. I declare every evil plot against me is defeated. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
