“Then He brought him outside and said, ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’”
- Genesis 15:5 (NKJV)
To pursue the dream God has given us, we must learn to strengthen our faith in it. One of the ways God helps us do this is through vision and declaration.
When God spoke to Abraham, He did not only give him a promise; He gave him a picture. God told him to look up at the stars. That moment was not just about information; it was about visualization. Seeing the stars helped Abraham imagine what God was promising. Visualization strengthens belief. When Abraham looked at the stars, he began to picture what God had said, and that image fortified his faith.
Seeing the promise is powerful because it gives our faith something to hold on to, even when our circumstances have not yet caught up with what God revealed.
Keep the Dream Visible
This is why it is important to keep our dreams before us. When we can see where we are going, it becomes easier to stay focused. A visible dream serves as a daily reminder of what we are trusting God for.
Write it down. Picture it. Surround your environment with reminders of the promise. Each time you see it, your inner faith is strengthened.
The Power of Declaration
Another way to strengthen faith is through our words. In 1 Samuel 17:37, David declared, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” His words were a statement of faith.
Visualization strengthens belief.
What we speak aligns with what we believe. When our words agree with God’s Word, our faith gains momentum. Speaking in faith is not a ritual; it is a reinforcement. It reminds both our mind and our spirit of what God can do.
If you are believing God for freedom, healing, restoration, or provision, find scriptures that match that promise. Declare them often. Speak them with confidence. Allow those words to shape your thoughts and strengthen your faith.
Faith Grows When We See and When We Speak
Visualization and declaration work together. One helps us see the promise, and the other helps us reinforce belief through our words. Together, they keep us grounded even when progress feels slow or delayed.
There will be moments when doubt tries to rise. In those moments, return to what God has shown you and what He has said. Keep confessing His Word and hold it tightly in your heart.
A Commitment to Faith
Today, commit to strengthening your faith for the dream. See what God has shown you. Speak what God has promised. Let your heart and your words stay in agreement with His truth.
As you continue to see and to speak, your confidence will grow, your faith will deepen, and the dream God gave you will take form in His perfect time.
Song
“Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, I want to see you.”
Prayer – Lord, strengthen our faith as we pursue our dreams. Help us to see what You have shown us and to speak Your word boldly. Keep our hearts steady and focused on Your promises, in Jesus’ name. Amen
