“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it….”
– Genesis 1:28 (NKJV)

In the beginning, God did two remarkable things: He created, and He blessed.

When God made humanity, the first thing He released over them was not an instruction, a correction, or even a responsibility, it was a blessing. Before Adam accomplished anything, he was already blessed and empowered by God.

This reveals a profound truth: humanity was designed to function under the blessing of God. The blessing is like the operating system that enables our lives to function according to the Creator’s original intention.

When something is not working as it should, the issue may not simply be a lack of effort. Something deeper may be missing. We may be trying to produce through human strength what can only flow from divine empowerment.

Imagine a smartphone without an operating system. No matter how expensive or sophisticated it may be, it cannot function as designed. It may look impressive on the outside, but it will be unable to fulfil its purpose. In the same way, a person may possess education, skills, connections, and opportunities, yet still struggle to express the fullness of God’s intention without His blessing at work.

We can only express what we carry.

This is why human beings cannot function outside the boundaries of their design. A person cannot live underwater like a fish, not because of weakness or insufficient effort, but because the human body was not designed for that environment. A person cannot fly simply by flapping their arms, not because they are not trying hard enough, but because they were not created for that expression.

In the same way, there are dimensions of purpose, fruitfulness, and impact that God desires to express through you. However, they will become visible only to the degree that you receive, carry, and cooperate with His blessing.

The wonderful truth is that God desires to bless you. The question is: Are you intentional about receiving His blessing and living from it?

Today, ask yourself:

Am I depending solely on my own effort, or am I relying on the blessing and empowerment of God?

Begin to seek His blessing intentionally in prayer, through His Word, through obedience, and with a heart that remains open and surrendered to Him. You were never designed to fulfil your purpose through human effort alone. You were created to live, flourish, and become fruitful under the blessing of God.
