“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

In a world that glorifies hustle, God invites us to slow down.

Faith doesn’t come from speed-reading Scripture or skimming devotionals. It comes through meditation—chewing slowly on the Word of God until the Holy Spirit breathes life into it. That’s when logos becomes rhema. The written word transforms into the living word, igniting revelation within your spirit.

Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing the rhema of God. The word rhema refers to something spoken, quickened, or made alive. It’s not just about reading the Bible; it’s about hearing what God is saying through it.

This process requires time, focus, and meditation.

Meditation is not mystical; it’s practical. It involves picking a single verse and sitting with it. Think about it, pray over it, speak it, and repeat it. Like a cow chewing the cud, bring it back to mind throughout the day. Little by little, the Holy Spirit pours insight into your heart. That’s revelation.

Revelation creates faith.

You don’t need to try harder to believe; you need to linger longer in the Word.

If you don’t slow down to meditate on Scripture, you may only walk in partial victory. Yes, God will bless you as far as He can, and your faith will work to a degree. However, you might feel that something is off—like there’s a cap on your breakthrough. Why? Because only pure faith brings fullness.

Pure faith is born when the Holy Spirit quickens the Word to your heart. It’s not just about reading the Bible; it’s about hearing the revealed Word—the rhema. That’s when your spirit catches fire. That’s when faith becomes immovable and authority becomes real.

When your faith is pure, your words carry power:

  • You call in a job—and it comes.
  • You command sickness to leave—and it obeys.
  • You rebuke fear, poverty, or demonic oppression—and they submit.
  • You confess God’s promises—and they manifest.

But purity doesn’t come through distraction. It comes through focus, stillness, and meditation. Social media isn’t evil, but distraction can be deadly. The enemy’s goal isn’t always to get you to sin; sometimes, he simply wants to keep you too busy to hear God.

So slow down. Meditate. Listen. Let the Word go deep. Let faith rise. Because when you operate in pure faith, Jesus said, “Nothing shall be impossible to you.”

If your faith feels weak, it may not be a faith issue—it might be a time issue. You could be rushing past the very thing that would ignite confidence in your spirit. Don’t just read the Word. Meditate until it burns. Then faith will rise—and so will you.

Be Still and Know

Song by CeCe Winans

Prayer: Father, help me slow down. Teach me to meditate on Your Word until it comes alive in my heart. I don’t want surface-level knowledge—I want deep revelation. Holy Spirit, breathe on the Scriptures as I read. Pour Your insight into my spirit and build my faith from the inside out. In Jesus’ name, amen.
