Blessed by Design – Part 2

September 18, 2024

"Then God blessed them, and God said to them,

“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it;

have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air,

and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 1: 28 (NKJV)

One of the many benefits of being born again is God’s desire for us to run on blessings. As a new creation in Christ Jesus, you are entitled to a blessing. It can be compared to a car; regardless of its beauty or size of engine, its usefulness is revealed when it is powered by fuel, diesel or electricity – so is our relationship with God’s blessings. However, it is easy to miss it if we are not receptive to it. We can be situated in the very place to receive God’s blessings, but our posture can derail the opportunity.

The blessing comes to who collects it not those who we think deserves it. Our attitude most of the time determines if God’s blessing sticks or not. Isaac set out to bless Esau but Jacob received the blessings in his stead because Esau chose temporary satisfaction over a blessed future. Another example is Gehazi, Elisha’s servant who was well positioned to be blessed but chose covetousness and greed. Many times, we as Christians are more concerned with quick satisfaction than eternal reward and this causes us to lose a chance at experiencing God’s favour over all that concerns us.

Being born again means you are entitled to God’s blessings, which come to those who are receptive.

As Christians, you are to carry a consciousness that you are blessed. It is beyond what we see in the physical, it is a mindset that affects our actions regarding all we hold dear. It is not by might nor by power, but by the Holy Spirit that dwells inside of us. Your countenance should change because you know who you are, and you should approach all that concerns you with the confidence that your head and hands are blessed.

Remember that as children of God, the Lord is our Shepherd, and we shall not want, Amen (Psalm 23:1).

Song of Worship

My head is blessed with the blessings of the Lord; - 2x

Everywhere I go, surely I am blessed; - 1x

My head is blessed with the blessings of the Lord. - 1x

Prayer - Dear Lord, thank you for positioning me to be blessed by You. Thank you for making me a new creation that is entitled to your love and grace over my life. Dear God, give me the strength to remember that you are bigger than my lows and cries especially when there is no physical evidence in Jesus’ name, Amen.
