It is written.

July 6, 2024

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

It is written! You must know the written Word before you can boldly and confidently challenge any situation with this short but powerful phrase. You can only produce the word you have taken in over time.

When life happens, your response must mirror the word of God. The question then is, what is written? When faced with a sickness, look for scriptures that speak the contrary to what you are going through. One of such is found in Psalm 118:17; I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

The Bible is your constant companion, your blueprint, and the guide for your life. What you do with it determines how far you can go in life. It is okay to have your Bible on your electronic devices or even under your pillow but more importantly it should be on the inside of you. Do not be deceived, the devil would not wait for you to open that phone or look for where you kept your Bible before attacking. You need to be instantaneous with scripturally fortified responses to fiery darts from the enemy.

People are unable to combat the enemy during attacks quickly because they have not meditated enough on the word of God. When the word of God is ingested and ruminated upon daily, even in your subconscious state, that word comes alive. You will even find yourself drawing on it when you are attacked in your dreams!

Looking at the account of the temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4:10, Jesus said to him, away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. Notice that Jesus did not just stop at ‘away from me Satan…’He backed it up with the scriptures.

Maybe the reason an undesirable situation has lingered is because you have not fought it with the Word of God specific to that situation. You need to grow from just trying to negotiate with the devil or the situation to commanding results through the Word of God. Remember, you can never go wrong with the Word of God.

Now, let’s do an exercise, how much of the Word of God can you accurately recite now without having to check your bible? How many scriptures do you know that you can quote to counsel a friend who has just received an unwelcome email or news? When you are woken up suddenly from sleep, what are the scriptures that you can utter on the spot? Don’t just walk around today, walk around with the consciousness of the Word of God in your mouth.

Song They Word by Amy Grant

Prayer - Lord help me to place value on Your word realizing that it is Your code for living a life of victory and impact, and also my weapon for winning against the enemy. I thank You for answering my prayers In Jesus name.
