Before the mountains were born or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are the eternal God.
Psalm 90:2 AMP
Have you ever watched a sprint race? In sprints, the athlete that arrives first at the finish line is deemed the winner while the last person to cross that line is assumed to have lost. Many tend to run the race of life like a sprint measuring God’s response within the confines of time. However, God is eternal! The word eternal is defined as lasting forever, having no beginning or end, always true, and finally timeless.
Time has no jurisdiction when it comes to the eternal God: God can never be limited, bound, or constrained by time. It is a grave error to assume God is late. Some even utter such statements like, ‘if You don’t do this at this time….’, ‘Lord you know I have passed the age of giving birth…’, ‘the deadline has passed…’ If God is involved, when he shows up is your time. Whatever you think you have lost, was only lost in time. Call on the Eternal God, who lives in eternity and is able to restore it back in time.
Even death bows to God. Remember Mary who thought it was all over for Lazarus. But when Jesus appeared as the Eternal One, it did not matter how long Lazarus had died, his life was restored (John11:32). When you really know Him as the eternal God, you would trust Him wholeheartedly and never give up no matter what the circumstances look like.
Again, in Mark 5:35, where the daughter of Jairus had died and many told him not to bother Jesus anymore. In our world today, a typical response might be: never mind, move on, whatever will be will be, give up, this is not for me, time has passed etc. But the Eternal One showed up and said, Be not afraid, only believe (Mark 5: 36b)
Before the matter started, the Eternal One was there. While you are going through that challenge, He is with you. And at the end of it all, He is still there with you. The Amplified version puts Psalm 121:4 in clearer terms ‘’Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber [briefly] nor sleep [soundly]’’. What does this mean to you?
There is nothing that escapes the Eternal God. Whether the issue started suddenly or has been a protracted one, the Eternal God is aware, and He is coming through for you. Today, He is saying to you again, be not afraid, only believe.
