The Power of Deep Thinking

April 21, 2025

 Read Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)

Our thoughts shape our lives. The Bible clearly indicates that God's great works stem from His profound thoughts. This implies that greatness in life is directly linked to the depth of our thinking. Shallow thoughts yield average results, while deep, meaningful thoughts lead to extraordinary outcomes.

The psalmist affirms that God's works are great because His thoughts are deep. (Psalms 92:5) This principle applies to us as well: to achieve great things, we must engage in deep, godly thinking.

God is referred to as the Most High, not just as a title, but because of His profound thoughts and remarkable works. If your thoughts remain shallow, your position in life will likewise be limited. However, by elevating your thinking, you can elevate your life.

If you wish to rise higher in life, you must think deeper.

God Himself establishes this connection in Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV): "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."

Your actions are a direct reflection of your thoughts. If you desire to rise higher in life—whether spiritually, financially, or in any area—you must align your thoughts with God’s higher ways.

Joseph’s ascent to power in Genesis 41:37-41 illustrates this principle. His success was not solely due to interpreting Pharaoh’s dream, but also because he provided a strategic solution.

Pharaoh was impressed not just by Joseph’s ability to hear from God but by his deep thinking and wisdom: "So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said to his servants, ‘Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?’" (Genesis 41:37-38 NKJV).

It was Joseph’s wisdom and thought process that led to his promotion. Many people pray for elevation, but without deep thinking, true advancement is unlikely.

Psalm 92:6 distinguishes between two types of individuals: a senseless person, who does not know that great works require deep thoughts, and a foolish person, who may acknowledge wisdom yet chooses not to act upon it.

A senseless man does not recognize the importance of deep thinking, while a foolish man ignores this truth and persists in shallow living.

If you wish to rise higher in life, you must think deeper. God is the Most High because His thoughts are far beyond ours. As you align your thoughts with His, you will begin to witness great works in your life.

Prayer -  Lord, transform my thinking. Help me to align my thoughts with Yours so that my life can reflect Your greatness. I refuse to remain shallow. I choose to think deeply, act wisely, and live a life that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
