And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him…
Genesis 2:18 (NKJV)

In the beginning, everything God created He called good. Light was good. The earth was good. The seas, the plants, the animals – all good. But in Genesis 2, God looked at Adam standing in the beauty of Eden and said something unexpected:

“It is not good that man should be alone.”

Think about that moment. Adam lived in a perfect environment. There was no sin, no suffering, no conflict. Yet, God said something was missing.

Adam needed support.

So, God created a helper for him. Not because Adam was weak, but because God designed human life to be shared. We were never meant to walk through life alone. We need help.

And while our help ultimately comes from the Lord, it often arrives through people – family members, friends, mentors, and the community of faith.

True strength is found not in isolation but in connection.

Think about the people God has placed along your journey. Someone who encouraged you when you felt discouraged. Someone who prayed with you when life felt heavy. Someone who offered wisdom when you did not know what to do. They are God’s help wearing human faces.

Now, pride sometimes makes people resist this truth. We prefer to appear strong, independent, and self-sufficient. Yet, Scripture gently reminds us that true strength is found not in isolation but in connection – with God and with one another.

Join a life group – a community of believers – close to you today. Fellowship together in the faith, pray together, and do not walk through life alone. When we open our lives to healthy relationships, we begin to experience one of God’s beautiful provisions: the strength that comes from walking together.

Song

O Lord, your tenderness

Melting all my filthiness

O Lord, I receive your Love

O Lord, your loveliness

Changing my unworthiness

O Lord, I receive your love

Oh Lord , Your tenderness – Bob Fitts

Prayer – Father, thank You for the people You place in our lives. Teach us to value the support You provide through family, friends, and the community of faith. Help us also become a source of encouragement and strength to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
