Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)

Over the years, we may have heard that God has a plan for us—and that truth remains unwavering. Though circumstances, situations, and locations may change, God’s Word remains steadfast. Everything ultimately aligns to fulfill His plan and promises because the God of the plan never changes. Therefore, we can trust Him to bring His purposes to fruition.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) reassures us, “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob,” and Psalm 102:27 (NKJV) declares, “But You are the same, And Your years will have no end.” God’s unchanging nature guarantees His faithfulness.

So what is this plan? Genesis 12:2–3 (NKJV) reveals, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” This promise extends beyond Abraham to us as spiritual heirs through Christ (Galatians 3:29, NLT).

God’s plan is to make us great. What we see today is only a glimpse of what He is preparing. As 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) declares, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Greater things lie ahead.

God’s plan for your life remains unchanging, even when your circumstances do.

If greater things lie ahead, then how far are we willing to see? God is ready to lead us into our promised land, but we must not limit ourselves by our current perspective. Genesis 13:14 (NLT) urges, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east, and west.” Present circumstances should not prevent us from envisioning a brighter future. We cannot step into a future we refuse to see.

Genesis 13:17 (NKJV) follows with a command: “Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” After seeing the promise, we must take action. We move forward by pursuing growth—in our careers, health, relationships, ministry, finances, and walk with God.

As we step out to walk in the promise, we must also fix our eyes on the One who leads us. Keeping our focus on Jesus, as Peter did in Matthew 14:29–30, will guide us to our destination. Peter walked on water when his eyes were fixed on Christ but began to sink when he looked away. In the same way, when we hold firmly to God’s promises and keep our eyes on Him, we will see His plan unfold in our lives.
