“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”
- Matthew 5:6 (NKJV)
The Holy Spirit is always willing to manifest and demonstrate His presence and power, but He also wants to be desired and invited. His moves are often provoked by God’s people. If we desire to see more of the expression of the Spirit, we must learn how to provoke His manifestation and demonstration.
Manifestation is the revealing or showing forth of the Spirit’s presence. Demonstration, however, is a bolder, visible display of power, designed to prove and convince. One is quiet and gradual; the other is loud and action-packed. Both are vital, and both can be stirred up by the believer.
The Holy Spirit is ready to show Himself strong.
So how do we provoke these supernatural expressions?
- Faith: God responds to faith. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please Him. If we want to experience His Spirit, we must believe that He will come. Whether you’re praying alone or gathered in worship, expect Him to move.
- Hunger: Spiritual hunger is a trigger. Psalm 119:131 says, “I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.” Hunger causes pursuit. Those who desire more of God will always find Him.
- Yielding: We must allow the Holy Spirit to move in us however He pleases. Yielding means surrendering control. When you yield, you stop trying to manage His work and instead follow His leading.
- Cooperation: When the Spirit moves, don’t resist Him. Plug into what He’s doing. Sing the song He’s releasing. Speak the word He puts in your heart. Do exactly what He says.
- Openness: Be open to unusual moves. The Holy Spirit is not bound by our limitations. Jesus said in John 3:8 that the Spirit moves like the wind that is free and unpredictable.
- Expectancy: Proverbs 23:18 declares that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off. Expect Him to move in every meeting, in every quiet time, in every step of obedience.
- Sensitivity: Be conscious of the Spirit’s presence. Pay attention. The more sensitive you are, the more quickly you will respond and the more powerfully He will move.
The Holy Spirit is ready to show Himself strong. But He needs people who know how to stir the atmosphere. People who provoke His presence with faith, hunger, and surrender.

Holy Spirit Move Me Now
Prayer – Holy Spirit, I believe in Your power. I hunger for more of You. Teach me to yield, cooperate, expect, and respond. Let Your manifestation and demonstration be constant in me. Amen.
