“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
– Genesis 1:28 (NKJV)
To replenish is to fill again, to restore, to bring back what seems lost. It is not just about refilling; it is also about experiencing repeated success, no matter the location, no matter the betrayal, no matter the circumstance. It is the ability to produce success everywhere you find yourself.
In Genesis 26:19-24, Isaac’s servants dug wells everywhere and faced dire opposition. Yet they did not give up. Whenever they dug, the herdsmen of Gerar would challenge them and take over those wells. This continued until they outlasted the opposition with success. A one-time success can be contested, but when you keep producing results, the more they fight, the more successful you become. Outshine your enemies with success. Whatever you have lost, may replenishment bring restoration to you in Jesus’ name.
Replenishment is the ability to repeat success irrespective of location, challenge, or opposition. Now let’s talk about Jacob. Have you ever wondered how he survived while in the house of Laban? Jacob had been working for Laban for many years. Laban kept changing the agreement regarding Jacob’s wages for his flocks, and despite being cheated many times, Jacob continued to produce excellent outcomes. To understand what Jacob went through, consider an employment agreement starting at $100 in which the employer makes a certain percentage salary reduction every six months. That was how bad his situation was. Yet his productivity did not decrease. The more Laban took from him, the more he was replenished and successful. Today, many people walk out of jobs for far less. When you are blessed, it does not matter where you have been mistreated; the blessing of God will always make you overcome.
Outshine your enemies with success.
Jacob knew this. He worked under a father-in-law who shifted the goalposts ten times. If the speckled were his wages, God made the flock speckled. If the spotted were his wages, God multiplied the spotted. Every time Laban tried to cheat him, God replenished Jacob’s success!
This is the power of God’s blessing. Circumstances may change, agreements may shift, people may scheme against you, but God’s word over your life remains constant: “Be fruitful, multiply, replenish, and subdue.”
Joseph replenished in prison, Daniel replenished in Babylon, and Paul replenished in chains. Locations shifted and conditions changed, yet success followed them — not because of where they were, but because of the One who was with them.
So, take heart! You may be in a strange land, an unfair situation, or an uncertain season. But God’s blessing ensures that what is depleted in one place will be replenished in another. Cheating cannot cancel it; environments cannot block it, and circumstances cannot limit it.
Song
O Lord Your Tenderness,
Melting all my bitterness,
O Lord, I receive Your love.
O Lord, Your loveliness,
Changing all my ugliness,
O Lord, I receive Your love.
O Lord, I receive Your love,
O Lord, I receive Your love.
O Lord, Your Tenderness- Graham Kendrick
Prayer – Lord, thank You that Your blessing is stronger than any circumstance. Teach me to trust You for replenishment even when the odds are against me. May my success not be tied to places, people, or systems, but to Your unchanging promise over my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
