“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”
- John 10:10 (NKJV)
Sickness is one of the sharpest weapons of the enemy. It steals time, drains joy, and interrupts destiny. When it shows up, the natural reaction is fear, frustration, or despair. Yet as believers, we must see sickness for what it truly is—the work of the thief, the devil. John 10:10 reminds us that the devil’s aim is always to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus, in contrast, offers us life—healthy, abundant, overflowing, and victorious life.
How then should a child of God respond to sickness?
Not with tears, silence, or resignation. Crying does not cure, and fear does not heal. Our response must be life.
Psalm 118:17 declares, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
This is a powerful affirmation of divine truth. Every time we confess God’s Word, we are responding with life to the attack of sickness.
Proverbs 4:22 tells us that God’s Word is “life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” This verse shows us the direct link between God’s word and health—do we need any more proof?
To further strengthen our faith, see what Christ says in John 6:63b echoes this “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”. Let all doubt in the power of God’s word to bring healing and life be gone!
This is a powerful affirmation of divine truth. Every time we confess God’s Word, we are responding with life to the attack of sickness.
Beloved, you are not helpless in the face of sickness. The abundant life of Christ is already yours. Healing is not a future promise but a finished work of the Cross. Your part is to enforce it by declaring life in every situation.
When symptoms speak loudly, let God’s Word speak louder. When weakness presses in, declare strength. When death whispers, answer with faith: “I shall not die, but live!”
Today, reject sickness as the work of the enemy. Fill your heart with God’s Word and your mouth with faith-filled declarations. Stand firm and respond with life.

I shall not die but live and declare
The works of the Lord, Amen.
Song by Panam Percy Paul
Prayer –Lord, thank You for the abundant life I have in Christ. I reject sickness and every form of oppression in my body. By faith, I declare health, strength, and vitality in every part of my being. I shall not die but live to proclaim Your works, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
