“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.”
- Acts 2:17 (NKJV)
Many believers desire results; breakthrough, clarity, deliverance, increase but often overlook the true source of prophetic manifestation. The prophetic is not a mystical performance; it is the expression of the Holy Spirit. Without Him, there is no authentic prophetic result.
The Bible clearly reveals that prophecy originates from the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21 (NKJV) declares: “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) says: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. And 1 Timothy 4:1 (NKJV) states: “Now the Spirit expressly says…” He speaks. He moves. He reveals. And when He is poured out, manifestations follow –dreams, visions, prophetic utterance.
Every Spirit-filled believer carries prophetic potential.
That same Spirit lives in believers today. This means every believer carries prophetic potential. 1 Corinthians 14:31 (NKJV) says: “For you can all prophesy one by one…”. Being prophetic is not the same as holding the office of a prophet, but every Spirit-filled believer can speak by divine inspiration.
The Holy Spirit is eternal. Hebrews 9:14 (NKJV) calls Him the “eternal Spirit.” And where He is active, results follow. But where is He active? He is active in the lives of those who have developed intimacy with Him. If you desire prophetic results, you must cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Prophetic results do not come from merely emotional excitement, or “chasing prophecies” from everywhere. Remember that you are warned in The Scriptures to test all spirits. This is because there are many “prophets” out in the world today that draw inspiration from strange, and even dark spirits. But the one true Holy Spirit of God—The Spirit of Light—has been given to you as a child of God. And true, redeeming prophecy flows from partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, thou at welcome
By Benny Hinn
Prayer – Holy Spirit, I welcome You afresh into my life. Teach me to recognize Your voice and follow Your leading. Let Your outpouring provoke dreams, visions, and divine direction in me. May every prophetic word spoken over my life produce tangible results. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
