“Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, ‘Why are we sitting here until we die?”
– 2 Kings 7:3 (NKJV)
They sat outside the city gate.
Not inside the walls where people lived. Not among families, merchants, or soldiers. The four lepers were placed outside – pushed to the margins because of their condition.
They had names, stories, and dreams. But now they were known only by one label: lepers.
In those days, leprosy meant isolation. People avoided lepers. Being a leper meant doors closed before you even reached them. These men lived on the edge of society, watching life happen from a distance.
And yet, on the night God decided to change the story of Samaria, these four forgotten men became the first to discover the miracle.
While the city trembled with fear and hunger, the lepers took a step of courage. They reasoned together, “Why are we sitting here until we die?” So, they rose and walked toward the enemy camp.
What they found was astonishing. God had already moved. The enemy had fled. The camp was full of free food, supplies, and treasure.
Those who seem invisible to society are never invisible to God.
The miracle had been waiting to be discovered.
And the first witnesses were the men everyone else had forgotten.
This is the beautiful surprise of God’s grace. Heaven does not operate by human rankings. Those who seem invisible to society are never invisible to God. And if you have ever felt or feel invisible, know this – He sees you!
Perhaps you feel overlooked. People have ignored your effort, underestimated your ability, or forgotten your contribution. You might have been the most dedicated at work but the least rewarded. Remember, God sees you!
He sees the person standing at the edge of the crowd. He notices the one others overlook. And sometimes, the very people who feel the least significant become the first to experience His unexpected provision.
God remembers.
Always.
Your time of divine visitation and promotion is near.

Great is thy faithfulness,
Great is thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hast provided;
Great is thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me.
Great Is Thy Faithfulness- Thomas O. Chisholm
Prayer – Father, thank You that You see us even when others overlook us. In moments when we feel forgotten or insignificant, remind us that we are always known and loved by You. Give us courage to rise in faith, just as the lepers did, trusting that You are already at work ahead of us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
