“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh …

Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.”

–  John 6:53–56 (NKJV)

There is something greater than healing. Greater than miracles. Greater than breakthroughs. It is eternal life. Healings and wonders are great, but eternal life is even better! Jesus, the Bread of Life, gives eternal life to those who receive Him. Our text talks about partaking in the flesh and blood of Jesus. This is not about physical eating; it is about receiving Him fully,  accepting Him as Lord and Savior, and entering into covenant with Him.

Jesus did not give only a part of Himself. He gave everything, His body as food, and His blood as drink. A complete provision. And what does that provision give? It gives us eternal life.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (NKJV). Every other kind of life has an expiry date. No matter how strong, successful, or healthy a person is, this natural life will end. But the life that comes from the Bread of Life does not end.

No matter how strong, successful, or healthy a person is, this natural life will end. But the life that comes from the Bread of Life does not end.

Imagine building your entire future on something temporary, like writing your life story on sand near the ocean. No matter how detailed or beautiful it is, the tide will eventually wash it away. The eternal life that Jesus gives is like writing on stone, that is permanent, secure, and unshakable. And this life does not just begin after death, it starts now. Jesus said, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him” (John 6:56, NKJV). That means relationship, connection, and union.

You are not meant to be distant from Jesus. You are in Him, and He is in you. This means your life is no longer ordinary. It means your future is secure. It means your identity is anchored in Him, and most importantly, it means that you do not have to guess where you stand with God. When you receive Jesus, you have the confidence of eternal life.

Today, reflect on your relationship with Jesus. Have you truly received Him? Not just knowing about Him, but accepting Him fully as Lord and Savior? If you have, rest in that assurance. If not, today is your opportunity to receive Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life. Thank You for giving Your body and Your blood for me. I receive You fully today as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. Help me to live with that assurance and remain in You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
