“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.”
- Luke 2:52 (NKJV)

We often desire to see great change in our lives, in our families, and in our world. We long to influence our generation and to be used mightily by God. Yet, heaven’s principle is clear: capacity precedes impact. Before God brings you into your moment of manifestation, He takes you through a process of internal growth. Luke 2:52 describes Jesus in a stage of preparation: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.”

Though He was the Son of God—eternal, holy, and powerful—He did not skip the process. From the age of 12 to 30, Jesus submitted to a quiet season of growth, not public ministry. This time was not wasted. It was sacred. It was strategic.

This principle still applies to you and me. Before God entrusts us with public assignments, He builds us privately. He strengthens our wisdom, grows our spiritual stature, and increases our favour. He deals with the foundation before He constructs the structure.

Capacity precedes impact.

Often, people want to do “the Father’s business” but are not ready to carry its weight. Jesus knew His mission even at 12 years old, but He did not begin until He was 30. Why? Because knowing your purpose is not the same as being ready for it. Time spent growing is not delay—it is divine development. God is not in a rush. He knows what is ahead, and He is preparing you for it. That difficult season, the stretching, the waiting—it’s part of the preparation. You may feel hidden, but hiddenness is not insignificance. It is the womb of greatness. What God builds in private will be revealed in public when the time is right.

The problem arises when we confuse visibility with value. We think if we’re not seen, we’re not being used. But David was anointed king long before he wore the crown. He spent years tending sheep while holding onto a promise. But that season of obscurity built a heart that could steward authority. In the same way, God is growing you for what He’s called you to carry. He’s increasing your wisdom—through Scripture, through trials, through mentorship. He’s building your stature—through spiritual disciplines, humility, and faithfulness. He’s expanding your favour—by watching how you handle small opportunities, relationships, and responsibilities.

You don’t grow by accident, and encounters with God accelerate that growth. Every time God meets you, He deposits something eternal into your spirit. It may not feel dramatic, but it’s forming something in you that will speak in the days to come.

Remember, when the moment of manifestation comes, there will be no time to prepare—you will only manifest what you already carry. So build now. Seek encounters now. Pray, study, serve, and grow. God’s timing is perfect. And when He opens the door, you’ll be ready to walk through it.

Holy Forever

By Cece Winans

Prayer – Father, thank You for the process of preparation. Today, I yield to Your work in my life. Grow me in wisdom. Increase my stature. Expand my favour. Build in me the strength to carry the assignments You’ve prepared for me. Teach me to embrace hidden seasons and to value every moment of growth. I trust that You are shaping me for impact, and I surrender to Your timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
