“The blessing of the Lord, makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.”
- Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV)

An encounter with God can happen in the most unexpected moments—not just in a crowd or during a powerful worship session, but even in stillness with an open Bible. Sometimes, an encounter is when a familiar Scripture suddenly speaks to you in a new and undeniable way. It’s when the truth of God’s Word pierces your heart, rewires your thinking, and brings clarity to your situation.

Proverbs 10:22 is one of those verses often quoted and broadly understood: “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” But until that verse becomes alive in your spirit, it can remain an unused key on a heavy keychain. True richness—whether in relationships, health, peace, finances, or fruitfulness—is a result of God’s blessing. His kind of blessing doesn’t come with hidden sorrow, anxiety, torment, or loss. It is whole, sustaining, and complete.

True richness…is a result of God’s blessing.”

Sometimes we live far beneath the level of abundance and peace God intends—not because He is not willing, but because we’ve not yet encountered the truth of His promises in a way that reshapes our belief. We may quote verses but not truly believe them at the core of our hearts. An encounter with Scripture shifts that. It transforms what we know into what we live

Many believers pray for blessings, but quietly expect them to come with struggle, drama, and pain. But the Word of God clearly separates His blessing from sorrow. When we anchor ourselves in this truth, we begin to walk in peace, confidence, and expectation—no longer victims of circumstance, but carriers of divine promise.

Every time the enemy brings thoughts of adulteration to God’s promises for you, cast those thoughts away and fight with the Word—The blessings of God make rich, and add no sorrow. Trust God to show you the path to His goodness in all its fullness and perfection.

Holy Forever

By Cece Winans

Prayer – Father, thank You for the power of Your Word. I ask today that Your Word would come alive in my spirit. Show me the promises that belong to me. Break every belief that tolerates sorrow as part of Your blessing. I receive the richness of Your blessing and reject every lie that says I must struggle to deserve it. Open my heart to fresh revelation, and let my life be shaped by Your voice. In Jesus’ name, amen.
