- Luke 13:12 (NKJV)
The world is filled with situations that seem unchangeable—patterns of sickness, cycles of delay, generational afflictions, and battles that have lasted for years. In Luke 13, we read about a woman who had been bound by a spirit of infirmity for 18 years. She was physically bent over, unable to stand upright. For nearly two decades, her reality was shaped by bondage. But one moment in the presence of Jesus changed everything.
This encounter reveals something critical: God is not indifferent to long-standing issues. He is not limited by time, diagnosis, or human reasoning. What had persisted for 18 years bowed in an instant to the authority of Christ. When Jesus saw her, He didn’t offer her sympathy or empty comfort. He didn’t ask her how long she had suffered or what caused her condition. He simply declared, “Woman, you are loosed.” With that statement, the spiritual chain broke—and her posture changed.
This is what divine encounters do. They carry judicial power—the ability to legally and spiritually reverse what the enemy has established. And here’s the good news: Jesus said in John 20:21, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” That means you too are called to carry authority—to speak into broken situations and see them change by the power of God.
It’s time to grow. It’s time to rise.
This woman’s healing was not random. It was tied to her covenant. Jesus referred to her as a “daughter of Abraham,” reminding everyone that her freedom was not a favour—it was her right. But for 18 years, no one enforced that right. Heaven was ready to deliver, but the vessel hadn’t arrived until Jesus walked in.
You are God’s instrument. You are the one He wants to use to break long-standing yokes—in your family, your community, and your generation. But if you don’t rise in capacity, heaven waits. The enemy advances not because he’s more powerful, but because the people of God have not yet stepped into their place of authority. It’s time to grow. It’s time to rise. That generational bondage? That repeated loss? That spiritual stagnation? You don’t have to accept it as normal. You have the authority—through the name of Jesus, by the Word of God, and through the power of the Holy Spirit—to change the narrative.
But you must first be convinced. Convinced that you are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Convinced that what you bind on earth is bound in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Convinced that you have power to trample over all the works of the enemy (Luke 10:19). When you walk in that truth, the atmosphere around you will shift.
Don’t be a spectator. Be the one who calls the bound to freedom. Be the one who silences the enemy’s report. Be the one who declares, “You are loosed,” and watches it come to pass.

I know who I am
By Sinach
Prayer – Father, thank You for the authority You’ve given me through Christ. Today, I rise into that calling. I will no longer tolerate the works of darkness around me. Teach me to walk in Your Word with boldness and to speak with spiritual precision. Increase my capacity so that I can carry this weight of authority. Use me to change the narrative—where there has been bondage, let there be freedom. Where there has been delay, let there be acceleration. I declare that every long-standing affliction in my life and around me must bow to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
