“But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.”
- Acts 9:15 (NKJV)
When God moves on earth, He does so through people. Heaven has chosen to partner with humanity to fulfil its purposes. That means you are not an afterthought or a spectator—you are God’s instrument. Every believer is designed to carry out divine assignments uniquely crafted by the wisdom of God. In Acts 9:15, God refers to Paul as a “chosen vessel.” That word vessel speaks of an instrument, a container meant to carry something valuable. You were created to carry the purposes of God—whether that’s through intercession, healing, teaching, encouragement, hospitality, or leadership. There is a divine blueprint on your life, and the earth needs what God has placed in you.
However, many believers underestimate themselves. They see their flaws, past mistakes, or lack of qualifications and disqualify themselves. But God doesn’t call the perfect—He perfects the called. You are not chosen because of your ability but because of your availability. What matters is your willingness to say “yes” when He calls.
We are reminded that God’s instrument on earth is the Church, and every member of the body has a specific design and function. Just as each tool is crafted for a particular task—whether it’s a screwdriver, a scalpel, or a hammer—each believer has their own God-given function and grace.
God doesn’t call the perfect—He perfects the called.
When Goliath threatened Israel, the entire army, though under covenant, was paralyzed by fear. But David, a young shepherd boy, had the stature and readiness to respond. Why? Because while others were standing in title, David had grown in capacity. He had encountered God in the wilderness, learned His voice, and built strength through hidden obedience. When the time came, God’s instrument was ready.
You are not random. You are placed—strategically positioned by God to respond to situations that others may not be equipped to handle. That family issue, that spiritual battle, that workplace environment—it may all seem overwhelming, but what if you are the one God has assigned to bring change? What if your voice, your prayer, your obedience is the key?
To be God’s instrument is not just about gifting—it’s about alignment. It’s saying, “God, shape me, use me, and position me wherever You need me most.”

If you can use anything, Lord, You can use me
By Ron Kenoly
Prayer – Father, thank You for calling me as Your vessel. I surrender to Your will and purpose for my life. Show me where I fit in the body. Open my eyes to the unique grace You’ve placed on me. Forgive me for underestimating myself or comparing my role to others. Today, I choose to align with heaven. Shape me into a vessel of honour—ready, refined, and full of Your power. Use me to bring change in my family, my community, and my generation. I am available. In Jesus’ name, amen.
