“And the Lord said to Joshua: See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.” - Joshua 6: 2-3 (NKJV) In the previous devotionals, we learnt …

“And the Lord said to Joshua: See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.”
– Joshua 6: 2-3 (NKJV)
In the previous devotionals, we learnt that all of God’s promises is ours through the finished work of Christ but the question many still ask is: how can we experience this reality in our daily lives?
God has already given us victory, blessing, and spiritual inheritance however, we must receive (enforce) it by faith. The giving part of redemption is complete in Jesus; now it’s our responsibility, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to step into the receiving part!
In Joshua 6:2, God told Joshua, “I have given Jericho into your hand.” Yet, Jericho was still standing, its walls fortified. From heaven’s perspective, the victory was already done, but it still had to be enforced on earth. For six days, the Israelites obeyed God’s instruction, marching around the city as an act of spiritual enforcement. On the seventh day, the walls fell.
Likewise, our blessings in Christ are already settled, but we must walk in obedience and spiritual authority to see them manifest.
Redemption is two-fold -God’s part and our part. God’s part was fully accomplished through Jesus’ death and resurrection. That is the giving side. There is nothing we can add to it. Our righteousness, deeds, or sacrifices do not influence what has already been freely given. But our part, the receiving-is where the battle lies. The enemy cannot interfere with the giving part of redemption, that is already settled. But he can interfere with the receiving part. That is why we must stay connected to the Holy: to build the spiritual capacity needed to retrieve what is rightfully ours!
Victory is our starting point in Christ.
Sometimes, God may instruct you to fast, pray, or stand on specific scriptures. It is OUR DUTY as Christians to evict the enemy from holding unto our blessings and we come not in our own name or strength, but in the name of JESUS!
This is the principle of enforcement! We do not plead from earth to heaven about issues and situations; we decree from heaven to earth. Victory is our starting point in Christ.
In Joshua 6:1-3, God told the Israelites that He had already given them the city of Jericho. However, Hebrews 11:30 tells us that it still took them seven days of marching around the city before the walls fell and they took possession of it. In the same way, you may not know how long it will take for your miracle to manifest but one thing is certain: it has already been given to you. This is why we don’t give up. We keep going because we already know how the story ends.
Today, shift your prayer posture. Start declaring what God has already given you. Ask the Holy Spirit for direction on how to enforce your victory in a specific area of your life.

No one can, No one will
Who can stand against the king

Victory belongs to Him

Prayer – Father, thank You for the finished work of Christ that has secured my victory. Help me walk boldly in what is already mine. Teach me to partner with the Holy Spirit to enforce my inheritance and flourish as You intended. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
