“God is not a man, that He should lie…”
 – Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)

At the core of faith is trust; not just in what God can do, but in who He is. Faith is built on the integrity of God. It is the unwavering confidence that if God has spoken, He will do exactly what He said. Unlike humans, God does not lie, forget, exaggerate, or change His mind based on circumstances. This truth becomes especially important when life contradicts what God has promised.

There are moments when your reality does not align with Scripture. You may be experiencing lack when God has promised provision, sickness when He has promised healing, or delay when He has promised fulfillment. In those moments, faith is tested. Faith responds by saying, “This situation may be real, but it is not final.” It refuses to accept circumstances as the ultimate truth.

This situation may be real, but it is not final.

Faith measures everything against the Word of God. If the situation does not align with God’s Word, then faith concludes that something must change, and it will not be God.

Faith stands on the character of God. It says God cannot lie, God does not fail and God keeps His Word. This kind of confidence changes how you respond to challenges. Instead of panicking, you stand firm. Instead of giving up, you hold on. Instead of speaking defeat, you declare truth. Even when you are on the ground, faith reminds you: “This is not consistent with what God has said.” That awareness becomes your motivation to rise.

Rugged faith is not denial, it is conviction. It does not ignore reality, but it refuses to let reality override God’s truth. When you truly believe that God cannot lie, it becomes impossible to stay discouraged for long. You may feel shaken, but you will not be destroyed. Why? Because your confidence is not in what you see—it is in who God is.

And God is faithful.
