“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…”
- John 3:16a (NKJV)

Singleness, contrary to common conception, is not about being in a passive waiting room—it is a season to experience and reflect God’s love in its purest form. Before any romantic relationship, God desires that our hearts be grounded in His unconditional love. When that foundation is firm, every other relationship finds its right balance.

True love begins with God, not another person. Many rush into relationships searching for fulfillment that only God can give. But when we receive His love first, we stop trying to make others our savior. We begin to love from wholeness, not from need.

We are reminded that love is underscored by giving. God loved and gave. Therefore, a relationship marked by stinginess, selfishness, or manipulation is not love—it is a counterfeit. The person who loves you will reflect God’s giving nature: patient, kind, and selfless. Likewise, if you are single, cultivate these same traits before expecting them in another.

Being single is not to be in a passive waiting room—it is a season to experience and reflect God’s love in its purest form.

Singleness is a time for pruning—learning to be content, to serve, to forgive, and to grow emotionally and spiritually. It is not a punishment, but instead a period of preparation. God uses this season to shape character so that when love comes, you can sustain it with maturity and grace.

When we love God first, we gain discernment to choose wisely.

Lust fades, appearances change, but a heart rooted in God’s love endures.

Let us take time reflect and to nurture our relationship with God. Let us ask Him to make His love so real to us that we no longer chase counterfeits. As we trust in His timing, let His love refine our standards and desires in Jesus’ name, Amen.

You’re all I want

Song by Micheal W Smith

Prayer Father, thank You for loving me perfectly and completely. Teach me to rest in Your love during this season. Shape my heart, purify my motives, and prepare me for relationships that reflect Your nature. May my life—single or married—always glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
