“A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.”
– Proverbs 24:5 (NKJV)
In the kingdom of God, power is not just a measure of force; it is the capacity to get divine results. True power overrides the limitations of time, space, and matter. But this power is not randomly bestowed; it is accessed and operated through knowledge.
Proverbs 24:5 reveals that acquiring knowledge helps any man demonstrate power effectively. Learning is never a waste of time. Hosea 4:6 points to the ultimate danger of ignorance: destruction. The journey to power begins with the pursuit of knowledge.
Expertise does not happen by chance. It is important to note that knowledge is the key distinguishing element between mediocrity and mastery in any field. The same is true in spiritual matters.
This points to a divine principle: teaching is the method by which power is transferred and sustained.
God is also in the business of empowering men with knowledge. In Matthew 28:18-19, Jesus practically showed the link between power and knowledge when, having received all authority in heaven and on earth, He instructed His disciples to go and teach. This points to a divine principle: teaching is the method by which power is transferred and sustained. Paul reinforced this when he told Timothy to entrust what he had learned to faithful men who would teach others (2 Timothy 2:2). Power is meant to be multiplied.
Exodus 18:20 gives us the framework: teach them what to do (the “what”), how to do it (the “how”), and why they must do it (the “why”). God does not want us to merely be hearers of His word; He wants us to understand and apply it. A major objective of the received word is for it to do good work in the hearer so much so that it spills outward.
You don’t need to experience everything firsthand to gain wisdom. Teaching helps you benefit from the experiences of others. It’s a divine shortcut to power. Every time you submit to godly teaching, your spiritual capacity increases.
Are you positioned to learn? Are you faithful to teach what you’ve received? Who is growing in power because of your influence?

Prayer – Lord, make me both a student and a teacher of Your Word. Let the power in Your truth change me and overflow to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
