“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5–6 (KJV)
From the very beginning, the enemy’s strategy has been the same: divide homes, harden hearts, and scatter children. But the good news is this — God restores families.
This prophecy pointed to John the Baptist, the one who came in the spirit and power of Elijah. His mission was clear: to rebuild what sin and pride had shattered — the family. When fathers close their hearts, children drift into rebellion. When pride, infidelity, or stubbornness enter, the enemy slips in with curses, sorrow, and deep regret.
We have all seen stories that end in heartbreak: stubbornness that refuses to bend, sin that goes unrepented, wounds that never heal. Families fracture. Children wander. Hearts grow cold. Sometimes, tragedy follows.
But God’s Word never stops at warning — it always brings hope. Through John the Baptist, God declared this truth: hearts can turn, curses can be broken, and families can be healed.
God Restores Families
Isaiah 40:3–5 reveals how God works:
“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”
No family is too broken. No sin is too dark. No heart is too hard. God restores families.
When God moves:
- Valleys of pain, depression, distrust, and guilt are lifted.
- Mountains of pride, ego, and stubbornness come down.
- Crooked paths of hidden sin, betrayal, and bitterness are made straight.
- Rough places of strife and conflict are made smooth.
Then God’s glory shines in a family. That is why we can confidently declare that God restores families.
No family is too broken. No sin is too dark for God’s forgiveness. No heart is too hard for Him to soften. If you have been wounded or feel your marriage is beyond repair, know this: God sees. God hears. God restores.
If pride or sin has taken root, humble yourself, repent, and make room for Him to work. You cannot control another person’s choices, but you can open your own heart to God — and He can move on theirs.
When we turn our homes back to Him, curses are broken, hearts are healed, and His glory fills the house. Truly, God restores families.
Bible in 1 Year: Psalms 140-142
Prayer: Lord, lift every valley in my family. Bring down every mountain of pride. Make every crooked place straight and every rough place smooth. Reveal Your glory in my home. I break every curse and release blessing, unity, love, and destiny fulfillment over my life and family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
