“Is anything too hard for Me?”
- Jeremiah 32:2 (NKJV)
One of the most subtle yet dangerous forms of unbelief is limiting God. It doesn’t always look like outright doubt. Sometimes, it wears the disguise of “reasonable thinking.” You believe God can do something — just not this. Not this job. Not this marriage. Not this healing. Not this financial breakthrough. This is what we might call restricting faith.
Restricting faith draws boundaries for God. It says, “God can heal minor issues, but not serious ones.” “God can provide, but not in this economy.” “God can help others, but my case is different.” Without even realizing it, you place God inside a box defined and limited entirely by your understanding.
There is no situation that moves beyond God’s power. Faith refuses to draw that line.
This is exactly what happened in the story of Jairus. When messengers arrived with the news that his daughter had died, they advised him not to bother Jesus (Mark 5:35). In their minds, the situation was beyond the reach of a miracle. Death was final. But they were wrong. Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid, just have faith” (Mark 5:36 NLT). There is no situation that moves beyond God’s power. Faith refuses to draw that line. It does not decide for God what He can or cannot do. Instead, it brings every situation before Him.
Even Sara struggled with this. When God promised that she would have a child in old age, she laughed to herself and thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” (Genesis 18:12, NIV). From a human perspective, it was illogical, even laughable. But God is not governed by human limitations. His response came in the form of a question “is anything too hard for the LORD?” (Genesis 18:14) The size of your problem does not intimidate God, it reveals Him! When you face something beyond your ability, it creates space for God to demonstrate His power.
So instead of shrinking your expectations, expand your faith. Stop saying, “This is too much!” and start declaring, “God is greater.” Let God decide what is possible — not your circumstances, not your past, and not your fears.

Be Magnified

Prayer – Lord, I remove every limitation I have placed on You. I bring every impossible situation before You and trust in Your unlimited power. Show Yourself mighty in my life. Amen.
