“I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…”
– John 6:35 (NKJV)
There comes a point in life where your physical strength is no longer enough. You may feel capable today, healthy, energetic, and in control, but life has a way of stretching you beyond your natural limits. This is where you need Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life. He strengthens you for destiny, not just for the moment. This is a spiritual supply, and this is a strength that does not come from rest, food, or human effort but from an encounter with Jesus Himself!
Take a marathon for example — at the beginning of the race, everyone is strong. The real test comes halfway through, when muscles burn and exhaustion creeps in. The difference between those who finish and those who quit is not just physical strength; it is endurance fuelled by something deeper, supernatural stamina from Jesus, the Bread of Life! Jesus is that supply!
He strengthens you for destiny, not just for the moment.
When others reach the point where they give up, something different happens to the one who has encountered the Bread of Life; they have strength to continue. “Strengthen” also means to establish. It means God is not just helping you survive; He is stabilizing you, keeping you rooted and unshakeable. The Bread of Life establishes you. So even if you feel tired mentally, emotionally or spiritually, be assured that you will not run on empty. You are being fed by Jesus Himself, and when He feeds you, you receive more than strength. You receive endurance for your calling.
This is why you can continue when others stop. This is why you can stand when others fall. Not because you are stronger, but because you are sustained. Take a moment today to identify where you feel stretched or weary. Ask yourself; where have I been tempted to give up? Instead of relying on your own strength, intentionally run to Jesus. Spend time in His presence through prayer, worship, or His Word, and receive fresh strength from the Bread of Life.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life. I receive strength from You today. Where I feel weak, sustain me. Where I feel like giving up, renew my stamina. Establish me in my destiny and help me to keep going no matter what comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
