When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
– Matthew 8:16
Apart from being willing and able to heal, Jesus is capable of healing all sicknesses. Regardless of their origin, nature, extent, or whether they are named or unnamed, Jesus can heal any illness.
In Matthew 9:35, the Bible states, “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” In Jesus’ time, there was far less knowledge of science and medicine than today, and many conditions likely went unnamed. Yet, Jesus healed them all.
Jesus’ healing power is not limited by human experience, understanding, or medical advancements.
Even now, despite advances in medical science and technology, there are illnesses and diseases without cures. However, Jesus has the remedy for every sickness. In Matthew 15:30, we read about “many others” beyond the named conditions that Jesus healed: “Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.” The writer of this passage struggled to describe the myriad conditions brought before Jesus.
Jesus’ healing power is not limited by human experience, understanding, or medical advancements. It transcends time and circumstance. Whether a sickness is known or unknown, treatable or deemed incurable, His ability to restore health remains absolute.
Throughout Christ’s ministry, He healed not just the named conditions but also many others, demonstrating that no affliction is beyond His reach. His compassion and power assure us that healing is always possible, reinforcing our belief in His unwavering ability to make us whole.
