“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
- 2 Corinthians 13:14 (KJV)
Many of us believers relish the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and grasp the love of God the Father, yet we may not have truly experienced the life-transforming communion of the Holy Spirit. The Bible clearly states that fellowship with the Holy Spirit is not merely a suggestion; it is essential for living a life infused with the power and presence of God. If we wish to fulfill the “greater works” Jesus promised in John 14:12, we must go beyond a casual acknowledgment of the Spirit and actively pursue an intimate friendship with Him.
Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit not just as a concept, but by name: the Comforter. In John 14:26, it says, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (KJV). The Greek term used for Comforter is Parakletos, a combination of “para” (near, beside) and “kaleo” (to call). This reveals both the Holy Spirit’s closeness to us and His divine mission to assist believers. The Comforter signifies more than mere consolation; the Holy Spirit is called by God to stand by our side. He is the final leg of God’s relay race of redemption.
Regular communion with the Holy Spirit will nurture intimacy and deepen your relationship, transforming your walk with God.
To enable the Holy Spirit to fulfill His roles in our lives, we must respond to His fellowship. This is where “communion” comes into play. The Greek word koinonia signifies deep fellowship and partnership. As believers, we are called to walk daily with the Holy Spirit, welcoming Him into our decisions, honoring His presence in our lives, and yielding to His guidance.
Consider the Holy Spirit as a senior partner in your life. Would you plan your future, make significant decisions, or enter into challenges without consulting your most trusted advisor? Unfortunately, many of us attempt to navigate life without this vital relationship.
Today, take time to be alone with the Holy Spirit. Acknowledge Him, welcome Him, and initiate a conversation. Ask Him to reveal His role in your life. Make it a practice to show up consistently. Regular communion with the Holy Spirit will nurture intimacy and deepen your relationship, transforming your walk with God.

Holy Spirit Move Now
Prayer – Holy Spirit, I acknowledge You as my Comforter, my Counsellor, and my closest companion. Help me to walk with You, listen to You, and obey You. Let my life reflect Your power and presence. Draw me into daily communion with You so that I will fulfill all that God has purposed for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
