There is much to enjoy when you carry the Blessing of God wherever you go and in whatever you do. The presence of God’s blessing in your life is empowerment for fruitfulness.

Genesis 1:27-28 shows us that while the image of God gives us identity, His blessings give us functionality. After creating man and woman, God pronounced blessings over them, enhancing their ability to be fruitful and multiply.

As a child of God, you are entitled to partake in His blessings. Proverbs 10:22 reveals that it is the blessing of the Lord that brings riches and fruitfulness. When you live under His banner, you are covered by His blessings.

Impacting others with God’s Blessings

The Bible demonstrates repeatedly that the presence of God’s blessing in your life can impact those around you. When you carry God’s blessing, you become a light and a source of transformation wherever you go.

Genesis 30:30 (NIV) highlights this truth: “The little you had before I came has increased greatly, and the LORD has blessed you wherever I have been…”

This was Jacob reminding his father-in-law, Laban, that his household and wealth had multiplied significantly because Jacob carried the blessing of God.

Similarly, consider the story of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers. No one could have imagined the life that awaited him in Egypt. Yet, even in captivity, the Lord was with him, and His blessing radiated through Joseph’s life: “The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.” – Genesis 39:2

Because of God’s blessing, Joseph rose to become the manager of Potiphar’s household and later the right-hand man of Pharaoh, the most powerful king of the time.

The three kinds of blessings you need

1. The Blessings that destroy the work of the enemies

The presence of God’s blessing in your life makes you a terror to the enemy. Wherever you go, the works of darkness are shattered.

1 John 3:8 tells us that the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the enemy. This means He will never leave you, will always be by your side, and will continually bless you. You do not need to live in fear (Hebrews 13:5-6), for no mortal can harm you when you enjoy God’s blessings.

David declared with confidence in Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”

God’s presence and blessing bring terror to the enemy, keeping them at bay. Genesis 35:5 describes how the terror of God prevented the enemies of Jacob from attacking him. Even when attempts are made, God’s blessing ensures their failure.

For example, when Laban pursued Jacob, God’s blessing prevented him from harming Jacob: “It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.’” – Genesis 31:29

2. The Blessings that Provoke the Act/Work of God

Throughout scripture, we see God’s blessings inspiring acts of faith and miraculous intervention.

In Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas, though imprisoned, prayed and sang hymns to God. Their faith, fueled by the blessing of God’s presence, provoked a supernatural response: the prison doors were flung open.

God’s blessings have already been promised to you. Genesis 12:1-3 declares: “I will bless those who bless you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

If God has spoken a blessing over your life, He will surely bring it to pass. Romans 4:17 reminds us that God “calls into being things that were not.” Even when circumstances seem impossible, as with Abraham and Sarah, God’s blessing ensures His promises are fulfilled.

3. The Blessings that Release Grace

When you enjoy the Blessings of God, you must be attentive not to let the grace slip. It is one thing to dwell in the blessings, it is another thing to stay humble.

The body is always competing with the spirit to fulfil its desire but you need the blessing of God that releases grace to continue to do the will of God. There will always be challenges but there is a blessing that makes a man do the will of God.

Paul acknowledged in 1 Corinthians 15:10 that he is nothing and nobody without the grace which empowers him to work harder in His vineyard.

He further stressed in Philippians 2:13 that it is God that helps you to will and to do His good pleasure. You need the grace to do this.

The body is always competing with the spirit to fulfil its desire but you need the blessing of God that releases grace to continue to do the will of God. There will always be challenges but there is a blessing that makes a man do the will of God.

But it is important to stay humble in grace. This is because most of the time when people see the blessing of God manifest with his grace in you, they tend to revere you.

When the Angel of the Lord told Cornelius in Acts 10:25-26 to meet with Peter, he wondered the kind of man Peter was for an angel to reference him. He fell at Peter’s feet in worship. But Peter stayed humbled.

He told Cornelius not to worship him because he was a man like him. Paul also wanted to worship an Angel in Rev 19:10 but the Angel stopped him, .… I am just like you, a fellow servant”.

Remember that all the blessings, gifts and talents you possess belong to God and you actually own nothing. Always stay humble in his grace.
