– Hebrew 11:11-12 (NLT)
Faith is not merely positive thinking; it is a divine mechanism by which the power of God becomes tangible in our lives. Hebrews 11 reminds us that the heroes of Scripture did not only hope. They acted in faith and received strength for exploits.
Sarah’s story is a testament to what happens when faith elevates human limitation to meet divine power. Her body was no longer capable of reproduction, yet by faith she received strength. This means she received supernatural empowerment to do what was naturally impossible. This same principle applies to every believer today. Faith is how we access the power that God has already made available through Christ. Without faith, we remain spectators of what others are experiencing.
2 Peter 1:1-4 describes the pathway of faith through which we gain access to divine power and the ability to experience the exceedingly great promises of God.
Faith is the bridge between our restored identity and divine ability.
Jeremiah 32:17 declares that nothing is too hard for God but experiencing that truth depends on our willingness to believe. The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are not simply historical facts. They become transformational when they are believed. Romans 1:16 affirms that the gospel is the power of God to everyone who believes. Faith in the gospel is the key that unlocks this power.
Faith is also the bridge between our restored identity and divine ability. Genesis 1:27 says we are created in God’s image, and John 10:34 affirms that we are called gods because we come from Him. Yet without faith, we live like mere mortals—limited by circumstance, paralyzed by fear, and silenced by doubt. Faith activates the identity we have been given and connects us to the power we need.
Do not wait for feelings. Faith is not a feeling; it is a decision to trust God above all else. The more we meditate on God’s Word, the more our faith grows, and with it, the power we experience. Faith is essential for an effective Christian life. Without it, we forfeit the power that is rightfully ours.
Prayer
Father, teach us to live by faith. Help us to trust You beyond what we can see, feel, or understand. We choose to believe Your Word and walk in the power You have provided. Let our lives be testimonies of faith-fueled power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
