“ The secret things belong unto the LORD our God.”
– Deuteronomy 29:29a (KJV)
There is a quiet mystery about God the Father that calls us deeper to Him. Unlike Jesus, who walked among men, and the Holy Spirit, who actively dwells within us, God the Father often reveals Himself in ways that are private, concealed, and profound. Today, let’s explore that sacred secrecy—not as a barrier, but as a divine invitation to seek Him with intentionality and longing—a call to pursue after Him.
Throughout Scripture, we see that secrecy is part of the Father’s nature. “Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” (Matthew 6:4). This verse doesn’t just describe God’s observant nature, it reveals His character. He operates in the secret places, the hidden corners of our hearts and lives. Again, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). There’s something sacred about secrecy. It is where God meets those who truly seek Him.
His hiddenness is an invitation, not a denial.
Even Moses, who was called a friend of God, experienced the limits of divine revelation. In Exodus 33:18, Moses asked, “Show me Your glory,” but God did not fully unveil Himself. Deuteronomy 29:29 says “The secret things belong to the Lord our God” yet God also promises us that if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him. (Jeremiah 29:13). God’s secrecy should stir our hunger. It invites us into deeper prayer, worship, and study and not out of duty, but desire. He hides not to remain unknown, but to be found by those who truly yearn for Him.
Today, take time to seek God intentionally. Set aside distractions and enter the “secret place” through prayer and worship. Ask God to draw you closer. Reflect on what parts of His character He might be inviting you to explore. His hiddenness is an invitation, not a denial. Lean in and discover the joy of pursuing God the Father.

Draw me close to you
Song by Michael W Smith
Prayer – Father, thank You for being a God who draws me into deeper relationship. I confess that sometimes Your ways feel hidden and distant. But today, I accept the invitation to seek You with all my heart. Help me dwell in Your secret place. Reveal Yourself to me in the quiet and the stillness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
