“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”

Ephesians 1:18 (NKJV)

Flourishing begins from the inside.

When the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers, he didn’t first pray for material things or outward success. He prayed for light — that the eyes of their understanding would be opened. Why? Because your inheritance, your fruitfulness, your spiritual flourishing — it all begins with understanding who you are in Christ and what is already yours.

There is an inheritance — a divine portion prepared for you. But many believers live below their potential because their souls are not prospering. As John wrote, your health and outward prosperity are tied to the prosperity of your soul. Your soul is the gateway to your transformation. When your thinking shifts, your life shifts.

You don’t become fruitful by chance. You flourish as your inner man is renewed, matured, and aligned with the mind of God. That’s why spiritual maturity is not a burden — it’s a blessing. To be spiritual is not to be strange or spooky; it is to be fully alive in the Spirit, walking in truth, and operating from God’s perspective.

The soul’s maturity determines how much of the blessing is visible on the outside.

Like a tree whose roots were poisoned, it may look alive on the outside for a while, but real change, whether death or life, happens underground. In the same way, your true flourishing begins internally. The soul’s maturity determines how much of the blessing is visible on the outside.

Don’t mistake external stillness for inactivity. Just like plants in winter that seem lifeless, your journey of blooming is seasonal and intentional. God is working beneath the surface. Flourishing is a process, not an event. There are times that feel dry, buried, even painful—but they are precursors to spring.

Flourishing is a journey. And it’s not always visible to others — at least not at first. But as your soul prospers, your life begins to reflect that inward transformation.

Refuse to settle for surface-level faith. Don’t be afraid of maturity—true spirituality is not strange; it’s powerful. The world may mock it. Some may see it as unattractive. But spiritual maturity is the soil in which God’s promises take root and bear fruit.

Say it aloud: “I am spiritual. I am maturing. I am flourishing.”

I Will Look Up

Song by Elevation Worship

Prayer – Father, open the eyes of my understanding. Let me see the hope of Your calling and the riches of the inheritance You’ve placed within me. Prosper my soul, renew my mind, and mature my spirit so I can fully flourish in every area of my life. Help me embrace the process, trust Your timing, and never despise the hidden seasons. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
