“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases”   - Psalm 103:2-3 (NKJV)

There is a divine link between forgiveness and healing. Scripture places them side by side, reminding us that the God who wipes away our sins is the same God who restores our bodies.

Just as sin separates us from God, forgiveness restores fellowship. And healing restores wholeness to our physical lives.

James 5:15 declares, “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” God ties these two graces together—sin forgiven, and sickness healed—because both were dealt with at the cross of Christ. When Jesus bore our sins, He also carried our pains. His blood cleansed us, and His stripes healed us.

Many carry guilt and condemnation, and it weakens their faith to receive healing. The enemy whispers, “You are not worthy,” and doubt sets in. But the blood of Jesus silences every accusation. And forgiveness clears the way for healing because it restores our confidence before God.

You don’t have to choose between being forgiven and being healed.

This means that when we come before the Lord for healing, we must also come ready to receive His forgiveness. And while this is very powerful, sometimes it is not even about receiving, but about releasing—forgiving others. This is so that bitterness does not block the flow of God’s power in our lives.

Today, remember that Christ has done a complete work. You don’t have to choose between being forgiven and being healed. At the cross, both gifts were secured for you. Lift your heart in gratitude, and receive His wholeness—spirit, soul, and body.

Song of Worship

The great Physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus;

He speaks the drooping heart to cheer, oh! hear the voice of Jesus

Sweetest note in seraph song, sweetest name on mortal tongue; sweetest carol ever sung,

Jesus, blessed Jesus

Prayer Father, I thank You that in Christ I am forgiven and healed. I lay down every guilt, every shame, and every bitterness at the cross. Let Your forgiveness flow through me and let Your healing power restore me completely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
