“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[c] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”  –
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

We often admire people who seem “so blessed by God”—we see the fruit, but not the journey. Behind every bloom is a process of growth, pruning, struggle, and surrender. Blooming is not an event; it’s a journey—one that requires maturity, obedience, and a deep connection with God through His Word.

1. Blooming is a Journey

To bloom means to grow, to flourish, and to manifest the life of God in you. But blooming doesn’t happen overnight. It unfolds from level to level. Each season, each trial, and each act of obedience leads to more maturity and more fruit.

Just as a flower goes through stages—seed, root, stem, bud, and blossom—so does your spiritual life. Don’t despise the process. There’s purpose in every step, and in each phase, God is refining you.

2. Blooming Requires the Word

Romans 10:2 NKJV says, “For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.” Zeal without knowledge is like running in the wrong direction with great energy. The Word of God gives us direction, clarity, and power.

The Word transforms us. Even if you don’t feel like reading it—stare at it, sit with it, and let the Holy Spirit awaken your appetite.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He responded with “It is written.” Not “I heard a prophet say,” or “I felt,” but “It is written.” That’s how important the written Word is—it was the foundation of His victory. And if Jesus-the Word made flesh-relied on Scripture, how much more do we need to?

The Word transforms us. Even if you don’t feel like reading it—stare at it, sit with it, and let the Holy Spirit awaken your appetite. Over time, the Word will begin to renew your mind (Romans 12:2), stir your desires, and align your heart with God’s will.

3. You Need Strength to Bloom

Blooming sometimes looks like warfare—especially in your mind. 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 reminds us that we have divine power to demolish strongholds. Some of those strongholds are thought patterns, lies, fears, and mindsets that hinder your growth.

It takes strength and courage to act on the Word—to obey even when it’s inconvenient, painful, or lonely. But God doesn’t leave you to do it alone. As you stay in His Word, grace is released to help you obey.

Let today be a day you recommit to the journey-not just the destination. You are being transformed, and if you stay rooted in the Word, you will bloom in due season.

Song of Worship

Attend to My Words

Song by Don Moen

Prayer – Father, thank You for the journey. Even when I don’t see the fruit yet, help me to trust the process. Give me a hunger for Your Word and the courage to obey it. Let Your truth transform my mind, and may I bloom in Your time and for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
