“But Christ came as High Priest… with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
— Hebrews 9:11–12 (NKJV)

In the previous devotional, we saw that Jesus rose in victory over sin, death, and the devil, and that this victory is transferable to us.

Yet, many people live without fully experiencing what Jesus accomplished over sin through His death and resurrection. They may still carry guilt, feel distant from God, or live as though something is still missing. But the power of the resurrection over sin tells a different story.

Christ was our sacrifice to God, bringing redemption from sin. And we know His sacrifice was accepted. For if there was anything lacking, He would not have risen. But because He rose, we know the work is complete. Hallelujah!

“…Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God…” — Ephesians 5:2 (NKJV)

Therefore, first, this means we have atonement. The penalty for sin has been paid. What we could not pay, Jesus paid in full. There is no outstanding debt and nothing left to be settled. We are debt-free in God’s eyes.

Next, we have redemption. We have been set free from the power of sin. What once held us captive no longer has authority because the price has already been paid.

We no longer live trying to earn acceptance—we live from acceptance.

Finally, we have reconciliation. We are no longer separated from God. The barrier that sin created has been removed, and we now have access to Him.

The power of the resurrection assures us that God is no longer holding anything against us. The sacrifice of Jesus satisfied every requirement. There is nothing left to prove.

This changes how we live. We no longer live trying to earn acceptance—we live from acceptance. We are not working to be forgiven—we have been forgiven.

Today, we are reminded to rest in what Jesus has done. Because His sacrifice was accepted, we can walk in freedom, confidence, and peace with God.

Song of Worship:

“Thank You for the cross, Lord. Thank You for the price You paid.”

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for the power of the resurrection. Thank You because Your sacrifice was accepted. Thank You for atonement, redemption, and reconciliation. Help us to live in the freedom You have given us and to rest in the finished work of the cross. In Jesus’ name, amen.
