“May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble… May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice.”
– Psalms 20: 1 – 3 (NKJV)
There will come a day when what you did for God will speak louder than what you say to God. In times of trouble, God often responds not only to our prayers but also to our past sacrifices. Your service builds a memorial in the courts of heaven.
Mary and Martha had history with Jesus. Mary anointed His feet with oil. Martha served Him tirelessly. When Lazarus was sick, they did not only request help; they invoked relationship. And Jesus responded. Psalm 41:1-3 tells us that God will preserve and strengthen the one who considers the poor. Psalm 20 affirms that He remembers offerings and accepts sacrifice. Your giving, your volunteering, your late-night prayers, your parking lot duty—none of it is forgotten. Nehemiah cried out, “Remember me, O my God, for all I have done for Your house.” That prayer was not arrogant; it was covenantal.
Your service builds a memorial in the courts of heaven.
When you serve God, you enter a relational contract. In crisis, you can call on it. However, service must be sincere. God sees motives. You do not serve to earn points; you serve out of love. Yet in that love, God builds a record. He is not unjust to forget your labour (Hebrews 6:10).
As a church or as an individual, your acts of generosity create leverage in the spirit. Giving to the poor, supporting missions, volunteering without recognition—these echo in heaven. They qualify you for supernatural help. Jesus said, “When you fast, when you pray, and when you give…” not if. A life of service is the life of a believer. Let your life speak long after your voice goes silent.
In moments of need, may your service rise like incense. May heaven recognize your name because of your sacrifice. Do not let busyness rob you of opportunities to serve. If you have served, take comfort: God remembers.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the opportunity to serve You. May every act of service I’ve rendered be remembered before You. Let my offerings and sacrifices rise as a sweet aroma. In my day of trouble, may You respond with deliverance and mercy. I offer my time, my resources, and my talents again today. Use them for Your glory, and reward them according to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
