“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
— Romans 8:11 (NKJV)

We often hear the word “resurrection” and immediately think of Easter morning. But resurrection is not a once-a-year celebration – it is a daily reality for the believer. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us. That is not a metaphor, rather it is a transformative, life-giving truth that redefines how we face our struggles, limitations, and weaknesses.

The resurrection of Christ is more than a historical event; it is a present-tense power that enables believers to overcome the dead places in their lives. Romans 8:11 makes this astonishing claim – the Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. The word ‘dwell’ implies a permanent residence, not a temporary visit. God’s Spirit is not a guest in your life; He’s taken up full residence.

What does this mean practically? It means that no situation is truly hopeless. Where the Spirit is, life springs forth. Are you facing emotional burnout, spiritual dryness, or physical challenges? The resurrection power of Christ breathes life into what seems lifeless. Just as Jesus’ lifeless body was infused with divine vitality, our frail human conditions can be renewed.

The Spirit that raised Jesus is not weak, timid, or distant. He is active, vibrant, and close.

And a truly liberating realization is that this power is not reserved for spiritual elites. Every child of God has access to it, today and always.

The Spirit that raised Jesus is not weak, timid, or distant. He is active, vibrant, and close. When you are overwhelmed by fear, or facing failure, remember that the resurrection power is working inside you.

The Spirit of resurrection can bring about a transformation from any situation resembling death in your life.

As the document rightly notes, Jesus did not return to the same life after the resurrection – He stepped into a new dimension. Likewise, resurrection in our lives is not about returning to old patterns but stepping into the newness of life. This power breaks chains, heals hearts, renews minds, and restores vision.

The Spirit of resurrection is not a seasonal idea. It is a perpetual source of victory for the believer. Do not live as though Christ remains in the grave or as if the Spirit’s power is inaccessible. Instead, arise daily with the awareness that the power which conquered death is at work in you. Let it fuel your worship, your work, and your witness. Hallelujah!

Song of Worship

I’m working in power – 1x

I’m working miracles – 1x

I live a life of favour – 1x

I know who I am – 1x

Prayer – Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit—the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. I receive this resurrection power in every area of my life. Let what is broken be restored, what is dead come to life, and what is weak be strengthened. Help me to walk in the awareness of Your presence and power each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
